The wave motif is allowed to rotate at a rate rather slower than the fundamental frequency of the Lissajous curve. Overlapping of the wave motifs in this case creates strong effects of radiating waves, at least in the earlier iterations. Later, successive overwriting of the earlier motifs emphasises this impression. The last figure is an experiment with a green rather than blue colour balance.
This gallery is one of a number exploring the use of Waves+Lissajous curves, going through a number of variations. Not all experiments work, and a number of my "Generate Wave" galleries are now no longer considered to be sufficiently different, interesting and informative to remain published. Hence, you will not see a complete set of "Generate Waves Series" from 1 upwards.
